Why can’t I sleep ?

Happy new year everybody ! I wish you all the best for 2015, “meilleurs vœux” as we say here in France ! As 2015 starts, I have a little story to tell you.

Artistic view of my eyes at night.

These days, I can’t sleep. I should though, I’ve been celebrating Christmas and New Year’s Eve for 2 weeks now. And every morning, I wake up early to study my exams. But I still can’t sleep. What am I doing then ?

I am thinking about this summer. I am thinking about my internship. Which company will hire me ? Where will it be ? How will it be like ? Who will I work with ? Who will I meet or meet again ? Every night, I lay in my bed and I am picturing this life in my mind.

For those who don’t know me and who still haven’t guessed it, I am very interested in going to the United States. I spend a lot of time reading or watching what happens on the other side of the ocean. There are many things that are interesting to me as a French. But I see all of this through a screen. Too bad.

That’s why I really want this internship. I want to see things first-hand. I want to discover what it’s like to live and work there. I don’t think it will be better or worse than in France, it will just be different. And I want to experience this difference.

On January 1st, my mother gave me a huge hug and told me “YOU’RE GOING IN THE UNITED STATES IN 2015 !”. Well, mom … we don’t have the money yet so calm down =) But I must admit that I see 2015 as a year of achievements too.

So once again happy new year everybody ! Let’s make 2015 even better than 2014 ! To talk about this blog, I will follow up contacts because earlier in 2014, there was 2 people interested in being interviewed. I will also probably talk about another thing at ENSIM : Finding a “godfather” !
